Hi! I'm Kristi!
Welcome to New Vision Counseling! Here we hope to help all of our clients find and achieve new outlooks on life through guided counseling. But before we dive into therapy, let me introduce myself. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) and the founder of New Vision Counseling, LLC. Before starting my private practice, I spent twenty years working in education as a high school teacher (Bachelor's Degree in FCS Secondary Education, UNL) and school counselor (Master’s Degree in Counseling, Doane University, School Counseling Endorsement, UNK). That experience gave me a deep understanding of the unique challenges individuals face—navigating school, relationships, identity, and mental health. Now, I bring that insight to the therapeutic relationship with my clients, helping people of all ages feel seen, heard, and supported.
I live in the country with my husband and two children. I enjoy gardening (actually, pulling weeds provides the most satisfaction for me), cheering on my kids in their sports and activities, as well as being a mom to Oakley, our Goldendoodle. The outdoors and the simple things are where I find most of my happiness in life. I love driving my ‘56 Chevy “Little Blue truck” on country highways in the sunshine, and I also enjoy spending family time at the lake, going to concerts, reading, gardening and watching movies. I have been a part of small communities for 20 years, and will maintain client privacy, even within those small communities.
I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship struggles (including unhealthy relationship patterns), school or work avoidance, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, trauma, OCD, ADHD, LGBTQ issues, grief, and life transitions, among other things. I create a calming space for clients to explore what’s going on underneath the surface—and to begin rewriting the stories that no longer serve them.
